Scientific ventilation is an essential part of the growth and egg laying process of adult chickens. The most suitable temperature inside the chicken coop is 18-25 ℃, and good production levels can also be achieved between 13-28 ℃. The temperature difference between day and night inside the coop is best controlled within 5 ℃, with a maximum of 8 ℃. The temperature at the horizontal point inside the coop is controlled within 2 ℃, and the vertical temperature difference is not more than 1 ℃. The temperature inside the chicken coop should be adjusted according to changes in external temperature to maintain a reasonable range. In addition to using water curtains and fan cooling and ventilation equipment, side ventilation windows are also an essential part of the interior of the chicken coop. Today, let’s have a detailed understanding of the side ventilation window for everyone.
1、 During the ventilation process of the chicken coop, during which periods do ventilation windows need to be used?
1. Using a mixed ventilation method: The exhaust fan at the exhaust end is used for ventilation, and the air inlet at the front and side wall wet curtain positions is closed to allow air to enter the chicken coop through the ventilation window above the side wall. In this way, fresh air can not only enter the chicken coop, but also prevent cold air from blowing directly into the coop. Especially in the spring and autumn seasons, mix the chicken coop evenly to achieve a uniform temperature in the coop.
2. Use horizontal ventilation mode: Install the exhaust fan on the side wall, and only open the air inlet on the opposite side wall of the horizontal fan during horizontal ventilation. Close the air inlet on the same side of the horizontal fan. Horizontal ventilation is to ensure air quality without causing significant changes in the ambient temperature inside the chicken coop, as the chicken can hardly feel the wind during horizontal ventilation. Generally used during cold seasons and the brooding period.
2、 What are the specifications of the air inlet
In most cases, it is best to make the air inlet gap almost reach the full length of the chicken coop to obtain sufficient ventilation, so in practice, it is best to make the air inlet as slender as possible. There are various external dimensions, generally including: 560mm wide and 270mm high; Specifications such as 600mm wide, 320mm high, or 700mm wide, 300mm high.
3、 Material of air inlet
Generally, it is processed by engineering plastic injection molding, with high durability and strong aging resistance. It is better to equip the outer mouth with a bird screen.
4、 How to configure the number of ventilation windows
Many companies configure ventilation windows not based on the number of chickens, but on the length of the chicken coop, which is 3 or 4 meters. This baseless empirical design will bring many uncertainties to the ventilation during the feeding process, making the temperature control system unable to achieve the expected effect.
Generally speaking, the most suitable negative pressure is 16.3pa, and the most suitable side wall inlet wind speed is 4.7m/s.
Calculation principle for the number of side wall air intakes and dampers:
As long as the intake volume of the mixed ventilation is calculated, if the intake volume of the side wall dampers can meet the exhaust requirements of the mixed ventilation, the number of dampers at this time will definitely meet the minimum ventilation requirements. Air exchange rate=total chicken coop volume/minimum ventilation rate -15 minutes of transitional ventilation: 5-8 minutes of maximum ventilation for 1 minute, with a ventilation rate of 0.015 cubic meters per kilogram of body weight per chicken.
Example: The chicken coop is 100 meters long and 12 meters wide, with a wall height of 3.8 meters and a ridge height of 1.5 meters. The volume of the coop is 5460 cubic meters. Assuming that the transitional ventilation is calculated for 5 minutes, the ventilation rate per second is 5460m3 ÷ 5 ÷ 60=18.2m. If the inlet wind speed is 4.7m/s, the air inlet area is 18.2m ÷ 4.7m/s=3.87 square meters. The window is 0.56m long and 0.27m wide, with a total of 3.87 square meters ÷ 0.1 ≈ 39 side windows. Considering the warm season, a maximum of 45 air intakes can be opened.
5、 How to install the air inlet
When installing a side wind window, it should be no less than 500 meters away from the top of the chicken coop, and the eaves should be no less than 300 meters away from the small window. The wall on one side of the small window must be in the same plane; A fixed expansion bolt structure must be used within a height of 15cm below the small window, and hollow structures are not allowed; To prevent rainwater from flowing back, the edge of the small window is higher than the outside. It is necessary to pay attention to a common problem in practical applications: that is, if the air intake is too small, it can easily cause problems such as pressure hypoxia and ascites. The reason is simple: insufficient air intake, lack of fresh air, resulting in hypoxia
