Because ammonia is a strong pungent smell, it can cause great impact and harm to pigs. Let’s briefly talk about the hazards of ammonia in pig houses in autumn and winter from two aspects.
First, it affects the growth performance of pigs.
Excessive ammonia gas in pig houses can cause rapid growth and metabolism of mucosal cells, and the energy and oxygen required increase. Therefore, the energy used for growth and production of animals is correspondingly reduced, which affects the growth performance and production performance of pigs.

Second, it affects the resistance of pigs.
