1、Breeding – Pregnant sows in the dry period, most of the gestation period (16 weeks) are kept in group pens or individual pens. Larger pens can house commensurately larger groups, but the length of the pen must remain no less than 2.5 times the width. Fully slatted floors keep pigs cleaner. If only partial slatted ground is used, a small amount of hoof damage may occur, but this will improve weight gain and save feed. If the three sides of the sleeping area are surrounded by the overall housing partitions, and the defecation and urination areas are separated by open partitions or doors, the pigs can also develop good defecation habits.
