Water is circulated through the system by means of a pumping station and is supplied to the top of the cooling pads by means of a distribution pipe on the deflector plate. The water flows down the corrugated surface of the evaporative cooling pad. Some of the water is evaporated by the dry, warm air that passes through the evaporative cooling pads.
The rest of the water is used to clean the evaporative cooling pads and is discharged back to the pumping station through a gutter system. The heat required for evaporation comes from the air itself. Therefore, no external energy supply is required for the evaporation process, and the air leaving the evaporative pads is cooled and humidified at the same time: a completely natural cooling process, nature’s own cooling process.
